GPS Services

Taara Environmental provides a full array of GPS mapping services. With Trimble Pathfinder Pro XH and XRS receivers and Ranger and Nomad data loggers running TerraSync and ArcPad software, we can provide submetre accuracy of mapped features. Custom data dictionaries offer efficient data collection and the final product can be provided in a variety of common file types such as ArcMap shapefiles.

GPS mapping is conducted in conjunction with many of our services, such as the ground truthing of ecosystem polygons. It is also offered as a stand alone service with past projects involving such things as trail mapping, riparian set back and top of bank mapping, permanent sample plot marking, and mapping of habitat restoration sites. Taara also provides GPS training services.
