Environmental has considerable experience working on large
and small-scale Terrestrial Ecosystem
Mapping (TEM) projects, from the government
standards of 1-20,000 to site specific 1-5,000. We have completed over 250,000 hectares of TEM projects, primarily in northern BC, and recently Nunavut.
Taara staff, along with other professionals as needed, complete all aspects of TEM from terrain and ecosystem mapping and classification, GIS development, ground truthing, VENUS data entry, classification QA/QC, and map edits. Projects are completed via conventional interpretation of hard copy air photos with stereoscopes, or in a fully digital soft copy process utilizing PurView and ArcGIS. We have a working relationship with a variety of other professionals providing services such as mono-restitution digitizing, remote sensing, soil assessments, and wildlife habitat assessments enabling us to provide a complete TEM package.
